TOP STORY: Milinkovic-Savic on PSG, Real Madrid, Man United radar

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Manchester United are interested in landing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer, according to Calciomercato.

The 27-year-old midfielder has long been a standout performer for Lazio in Serie A but, after missing out on Champions League qualification this season, he could now be set to leave the Stadio Olimpico.

The Biancocelesti are looking for a transfer fee in the region of €80 million, and they believe that their demands can only be met from a club outside of Italy, with three currently at the front of the queue for his services.

Having produced 11 goals and 11 assists in 36 league matches, the Serbia international has found the best form of his career so far. But while that has helped Lazio almost certainly secure fifth place, it has also alerted clubs across Europe who could finally make their move.

LIVE Transfer Talk PSG Real Madrid Man Utd eye Milinkovic Savic.png&w=126&site=espnfc12.19 BST: Manchester City are confident of further strengthening their squad this summer despite already landing striker Erling Haaland, sources have told ESPN.

City have agreed to exercise the €60m release clause in Haaland’s contract at Borussia Dortmund and the 21-year-old is set to officially move to the Etihad Stadium on July 1.

But sources close to the club insist the Haaland’s arrival is unlikely to be the last of the transfer window with conversations ongoing about the possibility of adding a midfielder and a full-back to the squad ahead of next season.

11.57 BST: Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club aren’t willing to pay the salaries demanded by the likes of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe or Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

Mbappe, 23, becomes a free agent next month and will soon announce where he is going to play next season. The France international is a target of Real Madrid and Liverpool and has an offer to continue at PSG beyond this summer, but sources have told ESPN that PSG have given up on him staying.

Haaland, 21, has agreed a €60m move to Man City in the summer and is set to earn around set to earn around €440,000-per-week, which would make him one of the top earners at the club.

Asked if Barca are interested in signing players like Mbappe or Haaland, Laporta said: “There are players in which even if we had the money to do it, we would not do it. It would distort the salary structure and our spending would shoot up again, and that cannot happen again.

“We all have to be aware of that and it is something that we are instilling in the club in all areas. You cannot go past a certain spending level. Mbappe is asking for €40m-€50m net. He wants €50m net. Mbappe is at a level of the superstars. Then neither one nor the other win the Champions League. That also has to be taken into account. We will not talk about salaries of €25m, €30m or €40m net.”

Barcelona have worked hard this season on cutting down costs, including wage cuts, to reduce their negative spending limit and debts of €1.2 billion.

Weir, 26, is under contract with City until the summer and the Spanish side are confident they will secure her signature on a free transfer. LIVE Transfer Talk PSG Real Madrid Man Utd eye Milinkovic Savic.png&w=126&site=espnfc09.32 BST: Paris Saint-Germain have given up on keeping Kylian Mbappe at the club next season and expect the forward to announce a move to Real Madrid imminently, sources have told ESPN’s Julien Laurens.

There are still some details to be sorted out between Mbappe’s attorney and LaLiga champions Madrid, but nothing that would prevent the deal from happening, sources added.

PSG were confident of Mbappe staying as recently as last week, sources said, and they tried everything they could to convince the 23-year-old, who was voted Ligue 1 player of the season by his peers for a third season in a row, to remain with the club after five years at the Parc des Princes.

They offered Mbappe a huge new deal, promised him a better squad for next season, offered him the captain’s armband and 100% of his own image rights, according to sources.

For Mbappe, who is having the best season of his career with 25 goals and 17 assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches, it was never about money, sources said. His ambition was always to play for Real Madrid one day, and there is a feeling right now in Paris that he will fulfill his dream.

Benfica will have to make a financial effort to acquire Fernandez, who has a contract with River Plate through June 2025 and a €20m release clause.

08.00 BST: Barcelona president Joan Laporta says painful sales will not be necessary to pull off a big summer signing if they close a series of financial agreements they are working on before the end of June.

Frenkie de Jong has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou to raise money, while sources have confirmed Barca are interested in signing Robert Lewandowski, who confirmed his desire to leave Bayern Munich last weekend.

“Let [sporting advisor] Jordi Cruyff and [sporting director] Mateu Alemany work,” Laporta told Catalunya Radio on Tuesday when asked about a move for Lewandowski.

“The financial situation is not great, remember. I can’t give details [on signings], but we are working hard to build a competitive team. It’s not easy. We are working to turn things around.

“If we manage to sort the club’s finances out, which I think we will, we can pull off all the operations that we are contemplating.”

ESPN revealed last week that De Jong is keen to stay at Barca despite interest from Manchester City and Manchester United. Coach Xavi Hernandez has also expressed a desire to keep the Dutch midfielder, but has conceded the club’s financial situation will dictate their summer business.
